Prof. Dr. Paris Fokaides (KTU)

Paris A. Fokaides is a Chief Researcher of the Research Group of Sustainable Energy in the Built Environment at KTU, and the coordinator of the project. Dr. Fokaides’ research is primarily concerned with digitization of the assessment of the built environment, with a particular focus on the field of buildings’ energy efficiency and sustainable energy technologies.
He is the author and/or co-author of over 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals as well as 15 book chapters. He also offers numerous courses in the field of Energy, Fluid Mechanics and Process Engineering. He is the coordinator of two MSc Programmes in the field of Sustainable Energy Systems (at Frederick University and at the Open University of Cyprus).

Prof. Dr. Andrius Jurelionis (KTU)

Andrius Jurelionis is the professor and dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), Lithuania. Andrius’s background is indoor environmental and energy engineering. With over 80 published research papers and 20 years of experience in academia, Andrius is currently focusing on university-business collaboration, challenges in architectural and engineering education, as well as digitalization in the built environment. 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aušra Mlinkauskienė (KTU)

Dr. Aušra Mlinkauskienė is the vice dean for research in the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture at the Kaunas University of Technology. She has experience in the fields of identification of landscape values, protection and evaluation of urban heritage, assessment of the physical condition of heritage objects, and changes in their cultural value. Aušra has carried out a number of applied heritage studies in the context of urban or architectural projects in protected areas and has experience in international research projects. She is the author and/or co-author of over 25 publications in peer-reviewed journals.

MSc Aušra Andriukaitienė (KTU)

Aušra Andriukaitienė is the Head of Administration of the Faculty Civil Engineering and Architecture at Kaunas University of Technology. She has more than 4 years of experience in field of funding research activities, communication and dissemination. KTU. Experience working in CSCI as a Project manager in a field of digitalization and management experience (financial and administrative) in H2020 projects.

PhD candidate Paulius Spūdys (KTU)

Paulius Spūdys is a researcher and a PhD student at Kaunas University of Technology, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture. He held a master’s degree in Engineering Systems of Buildings and Sustainable and Energy Efficient Buildings, gained over ten years of experience in the private construction sector in the design and installation of building systems as a Designer and Project Manager. In the academic field, his research work is related to energy efficiency of buildings, energy audits, BIM and Digital Twin technologies.
Paulius Spūdys is also involved in three Horizon2020 projects as a tasks leader and team member.

Prof. Dr. Darius Pupeikis (KTU)

Darius Pupeikis is the professor in the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), and the Head of the Centre for Smart Cities and Infrastructure. Darius Pupeikis is a civil engineer specializing in BIM (Building Information Modelling), Building Data Science and Machine Learning, Digital Twins and Building Physics. In 2010, Darius defended PhD thesis Impact of a Building’s Thermal Inertia on Indoor Temperature. He is the Head of the Centre for Smart Cities and Infrastructure and is responsible for building a community, encouraging R&D activities, and strengthening the study process in the field of digital construction, BIM, smart cities, and infrastructure.

PhD candidate Lina Morkunaite (KTU)

Lina Morkunaite is a PhD student at Kaunas University of Technology. She comes from a Civil Engineering background with specialization in building informatics gained at Aalborg University, Denmark. Now her main research area concerns energy efficient buildings and modeling of buildings’ thermal dynamics using advanced grey-box and black-box modeling techniques as well as their integration with Digital Twins. On top of that Lina is involved in several other international and national level projects related to sustainable built environment and digitization of construction industry.

MSc Gintarė Stankevičiūtė (KTU)

Gintarė Stankevičiūtė is the Administrator for Research of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture at the Kaunas University of Technology, working with researchers and PhD students. She held a master‘s degree in Public Administration and has experience in events organization and management. Organized events such as scientific conferences. She has management experience (financial and administrative) in the Problem-Based Learning project and the H2020 project.

MSc Fallon Clare Manhanga (KTU)

Fallon Clare Manhanga is a PhD student in the Faculty Civil Engineering majoring in building materials, particularly in the area of self-healing concrete. She completed both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Kaunas University of Technology and has always been heavily involved in various university activities, including associations promoting the development of women in technology and those that assist potential students. She’s been involved in other projects in the university and is participating as a Junior Researcher in the project.

Prof. Dr. Lina Šeduikytė (KTU)

Lina Šeduikytė is the professor in the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), Lithuania.

Her research teaching topics include sustainable development in the construction sector (environmental issues, CO2 emissions and buildings, EPD, principles of circular construction); experimental and digital studies of heritage buildings, school buildings and buildings under renovation; assessment of IAQ, thermal comfort, productivity, SBS symptoms and well-being of people. 

She is the author and co-author of over 80 publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Lina is Editor in Chief of the scientific Journal of Sustainable Architecture and Civil Engineering. 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eglė Klumbytė (KTU)

Eglė Klumbytė works at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) as the Head of the Civil Engineering Study Programmes. She has 14 years of experience in teaching and research in Civil Engineering field and 10 years of practical experience in construction project management. Her current work focuses on whole life cycle assessment. In addition to her administrative duties, Eglė is also a senior researcher and associate professor at KTU, has experience in 4 Horizon Europe projects (WP leader, Task leader), has authored and co-authored 19 peer-reviewed publications, and has made presentations at various international conferences and workshops.

Ph.D. candidate Iryna Osadcha (KTU)

Iryna Osadcha is a Ph.D. candidate and researcher at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Kaunas University of Technology. She holds a master’s degree in Geoinformation Systems and Technologies and has over a decade of experience in the construction sector and R&D companies as a building surveyor and researcher. Her research focuses on maintaining and updating the geometry of virtual building models, with a particular emphasis on its impact on the performance of Digital Twins. In addition to her Ph.D., Iryna has contributed to other university projects and is currently working as a junior researcher on a project.

Timo Hartmann (CONTECHT)

Timo Hartmann is founder of Contecht. He is also Professor for Systems Engineering at the TU Berlin. In his research and practical work, he develops state of the art system visualization and simulation technologies and integrates these technologies with the working processes of construction, engineering, and architectural professionals.

Timo received a Ph.D. from Stanford University where he was a student at the Center for Integrated Facility Management. His work has been published in Advanced Engineering Informatics, the Journal of Construction Engineering and Management, Building Research and Information, Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering, Design Studies, or ITCON. He is the handling editor of Advanced Engineering Informatics where we explore the science of engineering knowledge formulation with computational methods and Engineering, Construction, and Architectural Management where we would like to explore how to best manage collaborative and integrated engineering projects.

Elżbieta Borun is a dynamic and visionary leader, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Contecht GmbH

Elżbieta Borun is a dynamic and visionary leader, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Contecht GmbH. She held an Engineer’s Degree in Geoinformatics.

As CEO, Elzbieta is known for her strategic vision, driving the company’s growth through a combination of product innovation, strategic partnerships, and a customer-centric approach.

During her long-term work at Contecht, Elzbieta gained extensive experience in management, a business process and business modelling. She participated in many Horizon 2020 projects as a team member but also as a project manager, thanks to which she gained extensive knowledge in financial management and administration of EU projects.

Damian Harasymczuk is an experienced software engineer specializing in GIS (Geographical Information Systems) and BIM (Building Information Modeling) software

Damian Harasymczuk (CONTECHT)

Damian Harasymczuk is an experienced software engineer specializing in GIS (Geographical Information Systems) and BIM (Building Information Modeling) software. His primary focus are cloud applications for construction industry and online maps. In his work he builds tools to visualize 3D models, 2D and 3D maps, process big amounts of data. Damian has experience in research projects including Horizon 2020 and commercial projects for industry leaders where he designed and developed a number of applications and trained other professionals. Currently at Contecht GMBH he is a Lead Software Engineer responsible for software architecture and development of web apps.

Yuxiang works as a Project Engineer at Contecht. He is also a master's student at the TU Berlin's department of Civil Systems Engineering

Yuxiang (CONTECHT)

Yuxiang works as a Project Engineer at Contecht. He is also a master’s student at the TU Berlin’s department of Civil Systems Engineering. He has an Engineering Mechanics degree, focused on the analysis of structures utilizing different mechanics computation techniques. His current areas of interest are data processing and machine learning. At Contecht, he works on projects using his knowledge in civil engineering and skills from data science.

Dr. Paraskevas Koukaras is a postdoctoral research associate at the Information Technologies Institute (ITI) of the Centre for Research and Technology - Hellas (CERTH) with the role of a R&D project manager.

Dr. Paraskevas Koukaras (CERTH)

Dr. Paraskevas Koukaras is a postdoctoral research associate at the Information Technologies Institute (ITI) of the Centre for Research and Technology – Hellas (CERTH) with the role of a R&D project manager. 

He holds a Ph.D. in Data Science from the School of Science and Technology (SST) of the International Hellenic University (IHU), having investigated interdisciplinary approaches for knowledge extraction in the domains of energy and social media. 

Since 2019, he has participated in various EU-funded projects like H2020 and CINEA-LIFE, engaging in demand response technologies for improved decision-making regarding energy ecosystems and prescriptive analytics for increased energy efficiency and well-being in residential buildings. 

He is the author and/or co-author of over 35 research publications, including peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and book chapters.

His research interests include machine learning, data analytics, information modeling, forecasting, multi-layer information networks, heterogeneous information networks, graph mining, and hybrid functionality algorithms. 

Dr. Paraskevas Koukaras is a postdoctoral research associate at the Information Technologies Institute (ITI) of the Centre for Research and Technology - Hellas (CERTH) with the role of a R&D project manager.

Mr. Tsalikidis Nikolaos (CERTH)

Nikos Tsalikidis holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with a specialization in Energy, Environment and Anti-pollution Technologies. He also holds an MSc in Data Science, from the School of Science and Technology (SST), of the International Hellenic University (IHU), where his dissertation was titled ‘Data mining/Machine Learning for Smart House infrastructure’.

In his professional life, he joined EMISIA SA as a research engineer. He has been involved in projects related to environmental impact assessments, policy making and emission modelling activities concerning road transport emissions sponsored by the European Commission (EC) and European Environment Agency (EEA). He joined CERTH/ITI in February 2023 as a research associate and his research interests revolve around data related to the energy efficiency of the built environment and the integration of IoT/Smart technologies.

Livio Mazzarella, mechanical engineer and PhD in energetics, full professor from more than 20 years of Building Physics at Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano. He has a long experience in energy efficiency in buildings, HVAC systems, acoustic in buildings, Indoor Environmental Quality and standardization. He worked also  and standardization. He is also vice president of REHVA.

Rossano Scoccia, building engineer and PhD in energy and nuclear science from Politecnico di Milano

Dr. Rossano Scoccia (POLIMI)

Rossano Scoccia, building engineer and PhD in energy and nuclear science from Politecnico di Milano. He is tenured researcher in Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano where he teach building services energy modelling and building physics. He is an expert of dynamic energy simulations and involved in many national and international research projects.

PhD candidate Rossella Alesci (POLIMI)

Rossella Alesci, PhD student at the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano. She has graduated in Building Engineering and she works in the field of energy efficiency in buildings.
